Time Frame: June 2016 - September 2017

Event Dates: 8 week-long community activations in 2017

Community Arts Resources (CARS) and renowned political and social communications firm, RALLY, partnered to support city efforts of eliminating all traffic-related deaths in Los Angeles by 2025. Following Mayor Eric Garcetti’s “Vision Zero” executive directive, the team was chosen to create and lead a data-driven, city-wide education outreach strategy to develop a campaign that teaches all modes of transportation users to safely interact on our streets and share the roads. With CARS as lead and RALLY taking on strategic execution, the team developed a campaign that stimulated the conversation in LA to reduce the number of fatalities by 10% each year and saw positive behavioral changes in pedestrians, cyclists and drivers alike. Additionally, CARS piloted the Community-Based Outreach and Education Campaign, collaborating with 28 local organizations to design and implement physical, creative interventions along eight High Injury Network (HIN) corridors in Los Angeles.
