In November of 2009, Community Arts Resources was contracted by the Redlands Community Music Association (RCMA) to produce a facilities study of Mission Gables, a historic house in the heart of Redlands given to the RCMA by the City to expand the organization's community and cultural programming throughout the calendar year. CARS was tasked with producing an official study into Mission Gables' maximum usage and revenue potential in order for the RCMA to move forward with its capital campaign and organizational planning. CARS' research focused on the identification and assessment of the many competitive and comparable venues throughout Redlands and its surrounding area. An understanding of the allowed uses, rental fees, space capacities, and amenities related to these other sites helped CARS focus its recommendations for Mission Gables, which presented the historic house as an intimate community gathering space whose spatial flexibility will suit many potential renters.
