JACCC Facilities and Marketing Study

cultural planning

In 2008, Community Arts Resources and JB Research Company were contracted by the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center to conduct a marketing and facilities study of the JACCC campus including its landmark theater, Japanese garden, Noguchi Plaza and office tower. The goal of this study was to produce quality recommendations that would work to create a more sustainable program and physical property for the JACCC in the near and far term. Through on-the-ground research of Little Tokyo and the JACCC, a review of economic and market studies of Little Tokyo, Downtown Los Angeles, and the region at large, as well as a look into three additional ethnically focused cultural centers throughout North America, the team prepared a number of recommendations with a focus on structural, technical, wayfinding, programmatic, managerial, membership, and branding and marketing suggestions.
